Essential Web2.0 Designing Trends by Judy Hunter

Web 2.0, as described by many, is often used to describe a resurgence in the web economy, a new level of technological interactivity or a social phenomena deriving from new types of online communities and social networks. In whatever ways they might be described, the new web 2.0 sites show a remarkable change in the patterns of design. Certain common styles and trends can be observed in most of these sites, that has probably included designing too as a part of web 2.0 definitions.

The basic patterns that most of the web 2.0 sites follow are:

a. Simple Layout: The layouts generally stick to 1-2 column formats. This provides a cluster free navigation and easy sorting of the contents. These pages read in a straightforward way from top to bottom, and you don’t find your eye skipping around trying to work out what to look at. It’s a much calmer and more solid browsing experience than in times gone by.

b. Centered Orientation: In comparison to the liquid layout or left-aligned fixed-width layout of yesteryears, the new designs call for a center-orientated layout.

c. Content Designing: It is often said, that the mantra of web 2.0 designing is “Design the Content, Not the Page”! Well, this can also be observed in quite a lot of cases. It is no longer designing a blank page to be filled with content later. Rather it’s about designing the content, to make the site look more in sync with its theme.

d. 3D Effects: This is another of the very commonly found designing component for all web 2.0 sites. Glossy effects, reflections, bright colors and drop-shadows, are the latest designing trends.

e. Background Colors: As already mentioned, the page backgrounds are not the main aspects of designing any longer. Rather, they are generally filled with soft natural colors, gradients or simple diagonal or horizontal stripes. These simple backgrounds help to further enhance and highlight the importance of the already designed content.

f. Cute Icons: As with strong color and 3D effects, appealing icons and buttons can add that bit of polish to help give a page a high-quality feel. But used too much, they’ll have the counter effect, cluttering the page and confusing the user.

g. Big Text: Important sections of the site are generally written using bigger texts. This is surely to attract the user’s attention. However, not all the text should be using the same bigger fonts, simply because then none of them would be bigger than the other.

h. Big Input Fields: Bigger input fields are seen in the recent web 2.0 sites. This probably helps to validate the content design and the bigger text part of layout. Moreover, it somehow emphasizes the user interactivity of the web 2.0 sites.

i. Stars and Badges: Last but not the least, comes the bright stars and badges that have almost created a revolution in the web 2.0 designing. Almost all the sites that claim to be web 2.0 essentially include a bright star or a badge somewhere on their site. Mostly seen in their declaration of a beta release, the stars and badges can also be found in buttons and contents.

In addition to the orthodox definitions, these new, classy and smart web-designing trends also help to define a new breed of websites, the ones known to us now as the web 2.0 sites.

Samsung D900 – Slim Slider by Martin Stellis

Compared to other phones in the Samsung range and its predecessor, the Samsung D900 looks to have taken a handful of diet pills and run a few marathons since the last version was released. This into which a significant number of hours have been invested into the design – and it appears to have paid off.

Claimed to be the world’s slimmest slider phone, the D900 designers have come up with a phone with catwalk-acceptable dimensions. The D900 measures in at 103mm x 51mm x 12.9mm and weighs 85 grams – not bad for a slider phone. The curved lines of the phone make it easy to hold, however you may need to keep a tissue handy, since the glossy black finish tends to attract fingerprints and grime.

It’s easy to slide open the Samsung D900 handset, which is controlled by a sturdy spring mechanism. There isn’t really a good way to open the phone, except to put your thumb on the screen, which will leave you scrambling for your tissue again. Underneath the cover, there is a keypad with a central five-way navigation panel, two selection buttons, answer and end call keys and a clear button. The keys themselves are almost flat and are easy to press, although they aren’t distinctly separated like on other phone models.

The screen is both an impressive size (2.1 inches) and great resolution (240 x 320 pixels). It supports 262K colours, so your photographs will appear vividly and clearly. The screen also acts as the camera viewfinder and does an excellent job of it. At three megapixels, the camera is better than other phones in this class and comes with autofocus, flash and 4 x digital zoom. You can also use the camera to capture MPEG4 videos. Hardly surprising that a phone with supermodel intentions comes with a mirror – use this for self portrait shots.

Samsung has introduced a sophisticated new function to the D900 user interface, known as ‘uPlus’. The display of the phone adjusts itself to your environment – during the day your background image will have sunlight, whilst at night, it will fade to a night sky. As you dial a number, a very cute pen and paper appears, writing the numbers as you go. Another handy feature is ‘MobileTracker’ – if you replace the SIM in your phone, an automatic SMS revealing the phone number of the new SIM is sent to a number previously nominated by you. Not a bad feature if someone makes off with your phone.

The Samsung D900 also includes Bluetooth with AD2P for music streaming and USB connectivity. The MP3 player is compatible with MP3, AAC, AAC+ and e-AAC+ files, and the player offers shuffle and repeat modes. There isn’t a standard headphone jack on the D900, so you will need to listen to your music using either the Bluetooth headset or the included (not bad quality) ear buds. One of the only problems with this handset is poor battery life – you’ll only squeeze in three hours of talk time with 250 hours on standby and you’ll need to charge the phone on alternate days.

This is a seriously slender, good-looking and well-performing phone. Stylish and functional, it would be right at home on any catwalk.

Dental Implant NYC brings back the smile to your face by Erzana Jones

Dental implant is a restorative dentistry procedure that can help a person who is suffering from missing teeth or tooth. Losing permanent teeth especially when you are an adult can be extremely embarrassing. This can cause adverse effects on your personal, social and professional lives as well. Loss of teeth at any age to anyone can be caused due to several reasons like accidents, certain medical condition and also due to old age. This is one condition which can be effectively treated through the different restorative dentistry procedures. The only thing which you have to be cautious of in this is to make sure that you seek treatment for this from a professionally qualified dentist who is well known for his treatment methods. This is a very important dentistry procedure and you must make sure that you are well informed about the entire procedure if you have to undergo the procedure.

Dental implants are nothing but a method of artificially creating tooth or teeth in place of the lost ones. The implant is placed to the jaw where the artificial teeth or the replacement tooth grows. A titanium rod is placed and screwed on the portion of the jaw from where the tooth is missing. The gum around the area of the jawbone is stitched back around the rod and the new tooth grows there. Dentists recommend some time for healing the portion and if you are one who has undergone the procedure you must make sure that you strictly follow whatever the dentist has asked you to do. The best part about having dental implant NYC is the fact that the artificial teeth look so real that there is no chance that anyone can make out you are not having real tooth. Even you cannot make out that you are actually having artificial teeth.

The surgical process of dental implants is not done overnight and you must be ready to undergo this procedure, and sometimes it can take time to heal. Depending on certain factors the healing process can take time. Dental implants are a wonderful means that can be used for replacing missing teeth. The success rate of dental implant is very high and this is one of the main reasons why this procedure is highly recommended by restorative dentist to people that are suffering from missing teeth or tooth. Dental implant can be of great help especially to people who are in advanced age. The artificial teeth they get through dental implants can help them in chewing their food properly besides helping them smile and speak properly.

You must make sure that you are seeking treatment from a qualified dentist. Check the records of the dentist and see how successful he or she has been in doing dental implants on patients earlier. Since this is a complex procedure the best way for you to be prepared well for this procedure is to be well informed about the whole process. If at any stage you have any doubts about this, you must ask the dentist and clarify all your doubts.

Obtain Unsecured Personal Loan to Meet with Your Required Fund by Johan Jeuring

These days with the change in market competition, we find that the lenders mould their loan term according to borrower needs and desires. One among such loan is unsecured personal loan. Unsecured personal loan does not avail any collateral, it is best suited for tenants or homeowners who want to take a small loan amount, and providing collateral makes no sense for them.

Unsecured personal loan is used for multipurpose like expense of education, wedding, debt consolidation, home improvement, purchase of car, holidaying and many more. Unsecured personal loan takes lesser time of approval, as there is no evaluation of property involved here. You find that the interest rate comes at a competitive rate as compared to secured personal loan. However, there is nothing to be disappointed as the finance market leaves some more option for you like the online one; this helps you to pick the loan at a reasonable interest rate.

Online unsecured personal loan is a sophisticated tool that helps to evaluate various lenders. When you fill an online application form, then you find that number of lenders rush to you with their loan offers. Here you can deal with number of loan quotes, repayable term, interest rate, etc. Here sitting in one place you crack the shell and get the unsecured personal loan.

In case you carry adverse credit history, then opting for unsecured personal loan may seem to you a problem. Nevertheless, hats-off to the market competition that gives room for adverse credit holders to improve their credit history. Unsecured personal loan when offered to adverse credit holders may charge you with a bit increased rate of interest. But when you neatly search the finance market with your available online tool then half of your burden is lessened and you get adverse credit unsecured personal loan at a reasonable interest rate.

Thus, unsecured personal loan is a shortcut route to quench your financial urge.

Inexpensive Ways to Build Business Relationships by Stephen E. Seckler

While this may seem like a simplistic assertion, the mechanics of relationship building are anything but simple. It is one thing to know that you want to build relationships with human resources professionals (to generate employment law work) or bankers (to generate lending work). It is quite another thing to actually make this happen.

So what are some of the ways that you can build relationships that will lead either to business or business referrals? In this article, I will offer guidelines for relationship building and provide you with 47 ideas that you can put to use right away.

12 Guidelines For Relationship Building

1. Become a great listener. Commentary: If you want to succeed at building business relationships, try listening 80 percent of the time. Active listening is a great way to gain trust. It is the best way to find out how you can be helpful to potential clients and referral sources.

2. Be genuine. Commentary: If you are a strong believer in gun control, don’t congratulate someone for the award they received from the National Rifle Association. 3. Follow up quickly. If you meet someone at a networking function and decide you want to get together with them, call or e-mail them within 24 hours to set something up. Commentary: Quick follow-up increases the chance that you will actually do it. It also increases the chances that the contact will remember you. Following up right away does not mean that you have to meet right away.

4. Don’t get involved in activities that do not interest you. Doing things because you “should” will not work. If you don’t like golf, don’t play golf.

5. Avoid activities that do not feel comfortable or appropriate.

6. Relationship building takes time and cannot be rushed or forced.

7. Find out about people’s interests by asking open-ended questions. For example: “What do you do for fun?” “Where are you going on vacation?” “What are you doing for the holidays?” or “What are you doing this weekend?”

8. If you meet someone in their office, you can get a lot of clues about their interests. Just look at what they have on their walls.

9. When reading articles, read with intention (Is there anyone I can forward this to? Is there anything in this article I can discuss with my clients or contacts?)

10. Find out ways to be helpful by asking: “What is keeping you up at night?”

11. Get in the habit of following up on small things right away. Timely thank-you notes are much more meaningful than cards that arrive three months after the fact.

12. While politics and religion can be very poor topics to discuss with a stranger, common political and religious beliefs can be a very strong source of connection. Commentary: the recent election is a good illustration of this.

47 Relationship-Building Activities

The list below is intended to stimulate your own thinking about relationship building. Some of these ideas will work for you while others will not seem appropriate. Stick with what feels right.

You will also note that many of the items on the list below have nothing to do with business. While business relationships can be built on purely business interests, personal connections are likely to build stronger bonds.

1. Send notes of congratulations. Commentary: If you get in the habit of reading industry publications, you will become more aware of what your clients are doing.

2. Help someone’s family member with a job search. Commentary: If job notices come across your desk, forward them to people who might be interested. Introduce the family member to a client of yours. Even if the client does not have a job for the individual, they can help the individual by providing contacts and other useful information about their industry.

3. Refer business to them. Commentary: One of the best ways to generate business referrals is to make referrals yourself. Be sure that the referrals you make are “quality” referrals (quality as defined by the person who is getting the referral).

4. Introduce them to someone who can solve a problem they have. Commentary: Perhaps they need a good computer consultant to help set up an office network or a good plumber to unclog their sewage line at home. Either way, referring good vendors to your contacts shows that you are resourceful.

5. Introduce them to someone who you think they should meet. Commentary: Perhaps you know an accountant who does work for a company they are courting. The accountant can give them useful background information about the company. Maybe you know someone who has dealt with a similar business issue and might be willing to share his experience.

6. Participate in a charitable cause that is of interest to a potential client or referral source. Commentary: Only get involved on an ongoing basis if you care about the cause yourself.

7. E-mail an article to them. Commentary: Keep track of people’s interests in an electronic contact manager so you can match articles with people’s interests. Many online publications make it very easy for you to forward articles by e-mail. If you take the time to track people’s interests in your contact manager, you are more likely to remember that person when something of interest does come across your desk or your computer desktop.

8. Invite their comments on an article you are writing. Commentary: If it makes sense, ask several people for feedback. You will end up with a better article and by asking, you will be communicating that you value their opinion.

9. Invite them to a sporting event. Commentary: Make sure it is a sport that you like and a sport that the prospect likes.

10. Do great work for clients and celebrate any victories.

11. Send holiday gifts. Commentary: When possible, try to make the gift personal or at least choose something you think the individual will like.

12. Invite them to a reception at your firm or ask them if they want to join you at someone else’s reception.

13. Ask about their spouse and children. Commentary: A wedding ring is a good clue that they are married. If it feels appropriate, ask them what their spouse does. If you happen to be in their office, ask if the pictures on the walls are their kids.

14. Go on a dog walk together.

15. Lend them a book you enjoyed.

16. Co-author an article with them.

17. Invite them to participate on a panel with you.

18. Establish a common connection. Commentary: same school, town, common professional or personal contacts

19. Teach them something about a non-legal subject that you know something about (e.g., how to use a piece of office technology; good places to vacation in Ireland; how to find a reputable dog breeder).

20. Write a personal note on any form letters you send out.

21. Plan an activity with your children (if they have children the same age).

22. Send acknowledgments if you see that they are mentioned in the press.

23. Send congratulations on significant life events (e.g., births, weddings).

24. Send condolence cards when you learn about a death in their family. Commentary: Most people will really appreciate this. It is unlikely that you would offend someone.

25. Recommend a good movie, book, play or other cultural activity.

26. Introduce them to a hobby or activity that you are passionate about.

27. Recruit them to participate in a nonprofit cause that interests you (make sure they seem genuinely interested).

28. Go out and celebrate with the client after settling a big case or closing a big deal.

29. Take the time to learn about their interests.

30. Mention their name as a source to a reporter.

31. Send them a brochure for a seminar that might interest them.

32. Tell them about a website that might be helpful or interesting to them.

33. Respond to business announcements they send out. Commentary: People generally appreciate feedback after they send out a mailing, particularly if it is marketing literature. If you liked something about the mailing, let them know.

34. Send back comments about an article they have sent to you.

35. Follow up on a referral you made and ask how it turned out. Commentary: if you think the person you referred actually followed up

36. Let them know about your significant life events.

37. Call the person you gave a referral to and ask them if the individual or company was able to help them.

38. Thank them for referrals and thank them again if the referral hires you (or keep them posted).

39. Invite them to your dance, piano or choral recital or the opening of your photography exhibit.

40. If a family member of theirs is sick, call to ask how the family member is doing.

41. Pay a condolence call if a parent dies and/or attend the funeral. Commentary: Unless you have good reason to believe that the person does not want to see you, showing up is likely to be appreciated.

42. Come to their functions when they invite you.

43. Put all of your time on your bills and show a discount (or indicate “no charge” for certain activities).

44. Call or write to send compliments about something good you’ve seen or read about the company/client.

45. Start a discussion by e-mail about a common interest (e.g., politics, sports).

46. Attend a presentation that the contact makes and send a note or a comment about the presentation.

47. Find out what organizations they are involved in and join one that interests you.

If you make a point of trying to be helpful to the professionals in your network, your relationships will grow. Whether you use any of the suggestions above or find other ways to connect, relationship building will lead to business if you stick with it over a long period of time.

How To Finance Your Franchise Business Opportunity by Raymond Lawrence

You have found the best franchise for you and are really excited about its future and your new business. However, how are you going to pay for it? Many franchises require a significant investment and a large amount of liquid money that many individuals don’t have. Fortunately, there are a lot of financing options available to help you finance your franchise business opportunity.

Please keep in mind, however, that you should consider financing your franchise before you actually get your heart set on a particular franchise. The reason why is that financing can be a challenge and is the most important thing you should consider before actually opening a franchise. So, spend some time researching how to finance your franchise business opportunity to get a better understanding of how the entire process works.

Your Finances

First, you need to determine your financial situation. If you are not in a situation where you can afford to embark on a new business opportunity that may have cash flow issues in the beginning, then you should reconsider buying a franchise at this time. If you are current on all of your bills, have more holdings than debt, and make enough money to live on comfortably while saving then you may be prepared financially for a franchise. If not, then you might want to get your finances in order first. If you are doing well, and have some savings to invest, then a franchise may be a great opportunity for you.

Financing

There is a lot of information that you will need to provide in order to get financing. This includes your financial records from loans and debt payments to account balances and tax returns. Make sure all of this information is up to date and well organized before submitting it for financing approval. The more financial information you provide the easier it will be for lenders to determine your financial situation and subsequent financing options.

Financing by Franchisor

When you buy a franchise many times the franchisor will offer some percentage of financing to help you get started. The franchisor you are working with will heavily influence the financing options. Keep in mind, however, that just because you are buying a franchise and decide to go with franchisor financing the application process will not be any easier or more lenient. Also, you will need to invest some of your own money in the franchise because 100% franchise financing is highly uncommon.

Additional Financing

A Small Business Administration loan is a great option for additional financing for a franchise. Also, most banks are willing to finance successful franchises because they have a proven business model. Private investors may also be another option for financing your franchise opportunity.

Technological Benefits of Equipment Leasing by Bob Newman

Technological Benefits of Equipment Leasing

Technology provides a needed and powerful edge in business; the following points examine those benefits and let you decide how these benefits provide you with the needed edge in business. An equipment leasing arrangement provides you the edge you need without running the expensive costs associated with purchasing state-of-the-art equipment.

Wider Options, Lesser Costs – With an equipment leasing arrangement you are free to select your choice of equipment without paying the full price. This advantage also comes with the fact that most business equipment leasing companies will often handle everything from the maintenance to the deployment of their equipment. Your company can save the costs associated with the equipment as the leasing company usually gets price cuts on equipment and related services since they buy in bulk.

State-Of-The-Art Equipment – When a commercial equipment leasing company provides your business with equipment they provide the best. They do this because unlike your business, equipment leasing is the only business they do and their competition is steeped in proving you the best equipment at the lowest prices. If they don’t provide the best equipment at the best prices their competition takes over, so the company paying for leasing services gets all the related benefits of getting the best equipment at a cheap price.

Flexible Arrangements – With an equipment leasing arrangement, financing is according to your convenience. Financing can be arranged according to the way you intend to use the equipment and the cash flow of your company. You can also renegotiate the terms of your lease if your circumstances change and this comes without any repercussions. Some commercial equipment leasing companies also handle the insurance of their equipment so insurance costs for your leased equipment is not a problem.

Equipment Leasing Options

With the various equipment leasing companies available there is hardly a fixed set of leasing options. Companies will provide leasing options and tailor them according to the needs of their customers. In this equipment lease guide we have selected some of the most common business equipment leasing options available, which can be found across a variety of equipment leasing companies in the U.S. today.

The Capital or Finance Lease offers the lessee the option to buy the equipment at a much reduced rate at the end of the lease period. This equipment lease is also referred to in some quarters as a nominal buyout lease. With the Sale-Leaseback Lease the company buys the equipment it requires and sells it to the leasing company. The equipment leasing company can then lease the equipment back to your company or business for its normal use. The Municipal Lease option is available to public agencies as well as non-profit organizations. If your company falls into these categories you can make inquiries concerning this option. With the Deferred Payment Lease, the first monthly payments of such leases are usually deferred to a period of up to 90 days before the lease starts. With the Seasonal or Skip Payment Lease, the lessee pays for the lease at peak periods of the operating year, which are defined at his convenience. With the True Lease, the lessee may choose to return the leased equipment on conclusion of the lease or may buy the equipment at a fair market value price of the equipment. With the Graduated Lease, the leases start off with small monthly payments that rise according to the level of increasing income your business generates.

Summary : An equipment leasing arrangement provides you the edge you need without running the expensive costs associated with purchasing state-of-the-art equipment. In this equipment lease guide we have selected some of the most common business equipment leasing options available, which can be found across a variety of equipment leasing companies in the U.S. today.
